Josiane Martinez, Class of 2008
Originally from Puerto Rico, Josiane is currently the Marketing and Community Relations Director at La Alianza Hispana where she leads all marketing initiatives. Through targeted public health initiatives, she has successfully managed the agency’s annual Latino Health Fair, the Three Kings Day, and the Community Gems Gala. Josiane also serves as the Latino Program Coordinator at Emerge, an agency that offers counseling and education to stop domestic violence. A journalist at heart, Josiane continues to be a freelance reporter and photographer for New England’s most prominent Latino newspapers such as Siglo21, El Planeta and for the magazines Color and Health & Family. Josiane is the Founder and director of St. Andrew’s Coffeehouse Cultural Center, an interactive peace revival space. The 150-person capacity performance venue currently hosts the successful “Hora del Café”, (The Coffee Hour) an event that blends poetry, music, theater, dance and visual arts from all parts of the diverse community of Massachusetts. Josiane holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Communication and a Masters Degree in Public Communications.
