Lauren E. Jones, Class of 2008
Lauren was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in CT, and now resides in Quincy. While studying Political Science and Public Administration at Providence College, Lauren was a research assistant for three years to a political science professor, focusing on church and state relations. Upon graduating from Providence College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Lauren worked at The Travelers as a Property and Casualty insurance underwriter for mid-sized commercial business. Realizing she wanted to pursue her interest in government, Lauren volunteered for the Deval Patrick gubernatorial campaign in the fall of 2006, and joined Governor Patrick’s administration in July of 2007. Lauren currently works for the
MA Office of Business Development in the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development as the Project Manager for the Commonwealth’s Economic Development Incentive Program. Also, as a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s MA
Team in Training, Lauren recently fundraised approximately $3,000 for the cause upon completing her first half marathon. Currently, Lauren is beginning involvement with MassVOTE as she eagerly wants to encourage strong voter participation for the
upcoming 2008 U.S. Presidential Election.
