Mohamed Brahimi, Class of 2008
Mohamed came to United States after earning a degree from the Al Qarawiyeen University in Fez, Morocco. In Boston Mohamed has studied Organizational Management and has received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Journalism from Suffolk University. Mr. Brahimi is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Political Science, while working for Harvard University as part of the Islam in the West research team. Mohamed has extensive experience in community activism and advocacy work on behalf of Moroccans and Muslims in the area. Among his many accomplishments, Mohamed is the Founder and Managing Director of Al Arab news newspaper, a bi-monthly publication that caters to Moroccans and Muslims and tries to propagate the importance of volunteering and civic participation. In addition, he is Founder and Chairman of the board of the Moroccan American Civic and Cultural Association (MACCA), a non-profit that encourages civic engagement and becoming part of mainstream society.
