Martine Gomes, Class of 2008

Martine currently serves as the Outreach/Program Coordinator for the Health Care Reform Unit under the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. She has also served as the Executive Director for the Cape Verdean Association of Brockton, Inc., a non-profit that provides social services and advocacy to the largest linguistic/ethnic group in the greater Brockton area. Martine was born in Senegal and is of Cape Verdean descent. A first generation college student graduate, Martine has Bachelor of Arts in African/Afro-American Studies and Sociology from Brandeis University and has completed a graduate program in Women in Politics and Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. With the hopes of pursuing law school, Martine continues to play a positive role in her community.
