Natalie Nguyen, Class of 2008

At the young age of 5, Natalie Nguyen left Vietnam with her family and has been living in Boston for the past 17 years. Growing up in the heart of Boston, she learned that for children to grow up healthy and successful in life there needs to be an investment in the care of the entire community - it really does ‘take a village to raise a child’. Through her own personal experiences and education, she has learned that there are many social problems in this world. To resolve these problems and change things for the better, she firmly believes that we must work together, invest more in our youth, build more leaders, and participate actively in our government. Natalie states, “it is my calling in life is to serve people and be a strong voice for my community.” A recent college graduate, Natalie has begun her public service in the office of City Councilor at Large, Sam Yoon.
