Giovanna Negretti
Executive Director, ¿Oìste?
Giovanna Negretti is the co-founder and executive director of ¿Oíste?. Prior to co-founding ¿Oíste?, Ms. Negretti served as legislative aide to the only African American state senator in Massachusetts. She has been active in numerous political campaigns and was a delegate for Barack Obama at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, where she also blogged her experiences for The Boston Globe. Giovanna is a fellow of the National Hispana Leadership Institute and has a BFA Magna Cum Laude from Emerson College and MPA from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, with a concentration in Leadership.

Born and raised in Mission Hill, Alejandra began her career as a middle and high school teacher in New York and Boston. Deciding to take a break from teaching, Alejandra then became the Program Director for the Citybridge Program working with 8th grade students from Boston and Cambridge on high school access and, later, with the Roxbury Preparatory Charter School working with high school students on college access. Alejandra first entered the political arena as the Director of Constituent Services for Senator Dianne Wilkerson. She currently sits on the board La Alianza Hispana and was recently elected to serve on the Ward 10 Democratic Committee. Alejandra holds a B.A. in Economics and African-American Studies from Wesleyan University and a Master in Education from the City College of New York.
Dr. John Berg

John Berg is the current chair of the Government Department at Suffolk University. His fields of interest include Parties and party systems, especially minor parties, Legislative Politics, Interest groups and lobbying, American political development, Environmental politics. Dr. Berg has been at Suffolk University since 1974 and, before that, served as a legislative research assistant to Senator Gaylord Nelson.
